A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.

Ingredients for a fun vacation:

Visiting parts of a palace where you're not allowed to come.
We (my friend A. and I) were visiting the Sissi palace in Gödöllo

and after secretly following a couple of tour guides (trying to understand what they were saying in Chinese) we went outside and walked around

until we stumbled upon the restricted area of the palace.
(We ignored the warning signs and the gate was left unguarded open!).

There were three buildings that weren't renovated yet and you were not allowed to go there because everything was falling apart. There was one building where we could go inside if we climbed over the stones and random stuff that was lying around. Which we did and we danced around in the empty rooms while the cracking door was our musician.

There was a staircase but after seeing that the ceiling was almost falling apart we decided not to go up and we continued walking around in the gardens

and looking in through the windows.

Unfortunately all the other doors were closed so we couldn't go into the other buildings.
After our little "adventure" we threw stones in Sissi's swimming pool to annoy the fishes while talking about how kick ass Alexandre Dumas was. And we danced around under the sprinklers because it was so warm.

Deciding at 22.00 that you want to swim. Being in the pool until midnight.

Listening to classical music at night while dancing around in the garden like a ballerina

Visiting every museum that you could possible think of and fangirling over everything.

Having discussions about books until three in the morning.

Seeing a gypsy smile at you while he was playing a sad song on his violin.

Annoying the guards at the museum who were following us everywhere we went by pretending that we could only talk German.

Sitting at the Danube part right next to shoes, where we talked about the second world war and books.

I have more stories to tell and pictures to show, but I'm too lazy and you're probably not interested.

I also realized that I like looking at all those business men who are panicking because they forgot to buy a present for their wives and children at home. So they try to buy something in the "last minute shops" at the airport. I think they're the only ones who buy something there...
