Alaska? i was born there...

and no, i'm NOT Eskimo...which an Amer. Indian dude asked me when i mentioned i was born there ('Brother?' he inquired...)

get this: a fairly remote island smack dab in the middle of the Aleutian chain. it used to be a military base...now...i think it's been given back to the Aleuts. it's called Adak.

literally, i lived closer to the USSR than mainland US during the Cold War!
