“We don’t have a song.”

“What?” Morgan said, pressing his body to the curve of Reid’s under the shower spray, kissing the soft white skin between shoulder and neck.

“Garcia asked me what our song is,” he explained, sighing and smiling at the feel of Morgan’s lips dancing across his flesh beyond a thin film of water running across his back. “And as far as I’m aware we don’t have a song we both enjoy mutually and have adopted as our anthem of sorts.”

“We have very different tastes in music,” Morgan pointed out, running his hands down his lover’s lean torso, across his slim hips and around to press gently on jutting hip bones.

“That’s not strictly true, Derek,” Reid mused as he washed his arms. “You may dislike classical while I enjoy it, but otherwise I would consider all the genres of music you listen to things I am able to appreciate and enjoy. I even know the words to some of it.” he teased, and Morgan chuckled.

“Refusing to let you play classical music that time we had a bath together doesn’t mean I don’t like it,” he murmured as he dragged his lips across Spencer’s skin, smiling to himself when the other stretched his neck out in invitation. “I just prefer words.”

Reid was about to state that he knew that, that it made sense since Morgan was a verbal communicator, and that translated into his sexual expression too, but his lover’s hands had crept up his body and were now tangling in his hair, putting delicious pressure on his scalp. He let out a long moan without shame, the sound reverberating against the glass of the shower.

“It’s quite a normal social convention, for romantic couples to have a song,” he said eventually, voice loose and soft, Derek’s fingers still pressing and manipulating the sensitive skin of his crown.

“Do you want us to have a song?” Morgan posed, peering around a little to read the man’s face.

“I wouldn’t say that it was a priority, but I would be interested in whether there’s a song we feel is representative of our relationship, or if there’s any song with significant to us as a unit.”

“Heh,” Morgan let out a breath of a laugh, “unit.”

“What?”

“I like it when you call us a unit. Makes us sound... I don’t know, productive?”

Reid smiled as he turned, Morgan’s hands slipping down to his neck and pressing their foreheads together as Reid’s hands came to rest of Derek’s waist. It was more than convenience that made them shower together as often as possible; there was something about showering together that was so intimate and cleansing, it made expressing themselves easier somehow.

“You won’t worry about it, will you?” Derek asked gently, kissing the tip of his lover’s nose and drawing back to look at his handsome face.

“What?”

“About finding our song?” he continued. “Because,” he shifted his weight onto one leg, and Reid knew the man well enough to know that meant he was just a little nervous, “it’s no big deal, since every song makes me think of you. ‘Cause I think ‘this would be better if Spencer was listening to it with me’, y’know?”

Considering that he felt like Morgan improved every facet of his life - even reading was more fulfilling when he was resting against Derek’s chest on the sofa - he certainly did know.

He showed his agreement by leaning forward and pressing his lips to Morgan’s.
