catching up [Mess Hall - Bones]
As a rule, Nyota tried not to plan anything on her days off, as few and far between as they were. Normally something would come up that she just had to see to, and then she'd end up having to cancel whatever plans she made. And for one day out of the countless she spent following a strict routine - however disrupted that could become because of whatever trouble they'd landed themselves in that week - it was nice to have one day where she could simply go with it.
But there were certain exceptions to her informal rule, Leo being one of them. How could she say no to spending time with her favorite Doctor? They'd both been so busy, between reports and annual physicals and people being turned into children. Nyota felt like it had been months since she'd been able to sit down and properly talk with him about anything at all.
After a brief swim and shower, she made her way to the mess hall a few minutes before they'd agreed to meet to search for somewhere to sit. There were plenty of people they could sit with, but the few times she got him alone, she felt the selfish urge to enjoy that for as long as she could. Who knew who would comm him away? She finally settled for the corner nearest to the entrance - easier to spot him when he walked in, in case he missed her - and sat down, padd in front of her while she waited.
