Just got back into martial arts... after 10 years. Same dojo, same sensei.

Felt a little like starting over again, but a lot came back... man am I going to feel this tomorrow, though. Oi!

Very cool, I have always had an interest but never been able to follow through on it. Social anxiety and then the one time I tried in a small setting my back got thrown out right after I started and I never went back.

I've thought about going back into martial arts myself..of course I'd like to get in better shape before hand...besides I couldn't afford it right now.

Don't worry about being in better shape beforehand... I was sweating during the warm-up and didn't stop sweating until I got to my car. And Oooohhh God do I hurt today!

As for affording it, the classes are free where I go, but you have to pay for the uniform and any belt promotion exams. You have to have a uniform per his rules, so there's that expense, but I don't think it's much more than $40.

Overall, a great value for some good exercise and good self-defense teaching. My only complaint is he doesn't keep very good control of the little kids and allows too many disruptions.

I see..I know it's a damn good work out. Part of the reason I was so as a kid was cuz I was in martial arts for a while.

Hm, still seems a bit more than I can give up money wise right now. I can barely keep my damn phone working and I might be losing that soon. And even if I went where you're going I'm assuming that's pretty far north.

Ah, I hate that...the kids should be disciplined too.

Yup... I was in martial arts as a kid, then had injuries that stopped my martial arts for years... twice.

I understand the cost thing. And yes, it's here in Edmonds at the Boys & Girls club. Way out of the way for you.
