You are assuming too much. You may be right, but he could be a new Christian, he could be going to avoid conflict with the person or persons he is going with or God is working on him in some way to keep him going

My main point was the same as yours--that church is not a prison. If a particular church isn't working for someone for whatever reason, he/she should consider doing something different, whether that means church-hopping, like you did, or staying home altogether. Since this guy feels drawn to church, then church-hopping may be a good idea indeed. I am not saying anyone should drop out of church, but rather taking a break would not be the end of the world

I don't go out of guilt. What I meant by that is, I believe God epxects us to keep the Sabbath and fellowship with others and not doing that, to me, is a sin. And I have reached a point in my life where I am aware of sin and that God is not pleased with sin. He still loves me, like a parent might love a disobedient child. But the guilt is there, it's part of being a Christian. And I'm okay with that. It keeps me on the path.
I understand what you are trying to say. You have decided that your church is the right place for your family and you are going whether you feel like it or not. That is great and I'm glad you have that kind of security
