i was in harvard today, waiting unsuccesfully for the 77, and i thought about your post the other day about the crazy guy. and i told my best friend how you thought you saw me in porter god knows how long ago, and almost got beat up or something for looking at my alter ego.
and i thought that it was funny and kind of strange that you could have been there tonight, i harvard station, looking at me, trying to see if it WAS me. and i would have no idea it was you, or that you were there at all. not that you would recognise me, i have no hair now. just "fringe" or whatever in front - the rest is buzzed. short.
...there was a point to this....oh yeah. if you do see me in harvard, or anywhere else, don't hesitate to approach me. i think its high time we met in 3D.

i wouldnt say almost got beat up... i certainly would have taken care of the situation [there were only a few of them, none over 16, and i'm sure none really knew how to fight, only how to talk like they see on tv], but yes.

i dont believe that i was trying to see if anyone was you for a while, though i am always noting people who "look like i should know them," if you know what i mean. i do pass through that station twice on a daily basis, in the morning around 9-9:30, and in the evening around 6:30.

if i think i see you, i will certainly say hi.

This actually made me stop short, re-read it a couple times, and kind of deflate a lot.

I don't know that I have an exact interpretation, but the sentiment pretty much strikes about as much at the heart of me as is possible. It's been a bad year.

It's been a bad year.

it's been both the best and worst.
