Photos from Saturday with the Trumpet Family

Here's the photos to go with my wild-n-crazy day with ericainohio, trumpetdaddy and their kidlets!

Sewing With Erica and all her obsessive neuroses!

Here's erica trying to sew batting to a piece of fabric:

the pattern called for "fusible polyester fleece" or something equally bizarre. we had batting, but nothing "fusible," so i had her stitch it down. it worked out just fine.

The finished bag. it's sooooo cute! photos couldn't capture the sparkly wonder that is the lining. i'll just let Erica tell you all about it. she does like her sparkly stuff!

including lunch, dinner, and soccer breaks, it took us about 12 hours to do this. not too bad, eh?

Soccer: The Purple Thunder
i took about 646897347058 photos of Gabriel's soccer team in action. some of the photos actually included said team. here's one of the better ones with Gabriel in the action, but where you can see his face, too. that's a hard thing to capture in sports!

That's Gabriel on the right, in the purple jersey and socks. the ref is the guy in yellow, david beckham jr is the other kid in purple. :) most of the pictures are of clumps of similarly-clad kids, and really not worth subjecting everyone to.

Gracie Cooks!
Gracie had such a good time being Mommy's and Miss Cyd's helper in the kitchen yesterday.

she stirred a lot of stuff and then chop up mushrooms

and she helped assemble the lasagne, too! (what you don't see is little bits of ricotta flying all over the kitchen. cue the kitty clean-up crew!)

Gracie was very happy to be one of the Big Girls, and was very clearly pleased with her contribution to our evening meal.

Monkey Hour

our before-bed fashion show and show-off session was quite entertaining. Grace modeled both of her dance outfits, and twirled around for me

(wearing Adorable Dance Outfit #1 with accompanying skirt)

she also showed me how she balance on one foot and do ballerina poses

(wearing Adorable Dance Outfit #2, the biketard with a glitzy design on front)

Gabriel didn't want to be left out, so he joined in for lots of tumbling and bouncing and whirling about.

Where they found the energy for all this, i'll never know! it goes without saying that they both pretty much passed out the second we said goodnight and turned out the lights.

Erica's got the full load of photos i took yesterday (minus the late-night sewing ones -- i'll get those to her soon) -- about 90 total. since i have a digicam and it doesn't cost anything to take the photos, just print them, i tend to be a little obnoxious about taking pics. :-)
