Well, I've just finished a very rudimentary journal...or I suppose I should say, begun one. As I am viewing The Blue Carbuncle at present, I shall finish tweaking this at some later (though not too late) time.
Goodbye for now!

How did you get your background picture up?

Well, I believe I clicked on 'manage journal', and when it asks if you want to use the old system or the new, I clicked on 'new'. after that, there are a lot more options for tweaking the page. If you move down until you get to the heading 'change individual settings', and click on 'edit customizations', there will be a page with different tabs; one of these is called 'presentations', and after you go here, if you move down to where it says 'page background image URL' you can enter in the address of the image you want.
My, that did sound like a bit, huh? If you need more help, I will be glad to assist step-by-step! :)

Whay kind of stuff do you write BTW?

I write fanfiction mostly, covering a plethora of different fandoms. I'm also working on an original sci-fi novel, and some smaller works to either self-publish or sub to Analog. I do a lot of angst and romance, with sci-fi being at the heart of my work.
Right now though, I'm working on a SH pastiche. It's slow-going, because I really want to get it right, and even after it meets with my own approval, I don't know whether it will see the light of day or not. But it's lots of fun to write! :)
Thinks ::New ways to squeeze Sherlock...hmm...:: ;p

Ah indeed, squeezin' on Sherlock. I've still got to go and get my picture taken with the statue in London.
I've just realised that it's 2am, I'm meant to be trying not to be a night bird anymore, but I'm wide awake and drinking black coffee. Hmmm.
The pastiche sounds exciting. I'm doing one myself and the worst aspect for me is the plot. I personally think I've got a good yarn but my nearest and fearless *cough* dearest keep picking holes in it. bah.
So you're imitating A.C.D?
Something that came to me the other day was that although Holmes' motivations are fairly clear; cases to exercise mental powers in the main part, what is Watson's motivation?
Do you think he gets involved in Holmes' cases out of boredom or interest? And then he runs off to be married (bad Watson). I guess that although I like Watson, at times he comes off as a bit fuctional.
