It's one of my favorite shows in that it is so complex. Paring it down is like peeling my skin off. heh. It sounds like a fabulous idea/concept. I'm just being conservative (omg.... no! NO! me???) *cough*
so anyway, you seemed to really really really like it so I think I'll give it a chance. The CD doesn't sound as good though :( ....
so what would you say was better: the original or the revival?

Don't think of it as paring down. Rather, think of it as eliminating unneccesary details and emphasizing the important point.

Does that make sense?

I was skeptical at first, but I think it might be better. Definately more interesting and original. The soundtrack is great, but you need to see it live for the full effect.
