I don't think you are being selfish at all. I do think you are bring amazingly kind and loving to open your home to your daughter and her family. Last year our youngest and her teenage daughter moved in while their new house was being built. It started out as 3 mos and ended up being 7. We managed it without too much friction, but my daughter was always stressed about the house construction and I was spending all my time cooking and cleaning plus listening to her vent. They are now living in their own home but still close by as it's on our farm. We got through it and you will too.
I also never know when helping out turns into enabling. Seems like there's always someone in the family, mostly adult grandchildren needing $$ or transportation etc. And I always give in. Every morning at 7am I take at least one grandchild to school. My husband usually picks her up and I have food waiting.
Projects sit around unfinished, not much writing getting done either. I have no answers, but just wanted to let you know I totally empathize and

Thanks so much for your kind words. It's very helpful to know that you have gone through a very similar situation to mine and that you also tend to give in to make sure your kids are as comfortable as possible. Now I know I'm not the only one and that I'm not crazy. LOL.
