I think I stumbled onto something quite wonderful recently on Netflix. It's a series of 50 episodes of a Chinese drama called "The Untamed", based on a book "Mo Dao Zu Shi" which translates to "Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation". There is also a Manhua (Manga) referring to the same novel.

This is a high fantasy series about a group of people ( Read more... )

Great idea! I found it a bit confusing in the beginning but I'm hooked now. Some people reported that they were drawn in by the 10th episode or so. It took me a bit longer but it got me!

Wang Yibo has the cutest smile, doesn't he? And Xian is irresistible. I didn't find it by accident, all this amazing art kept coming across my Tumblr dash and then a friend got totally drawn into the series (she spent her quarantine devouring it) and now I'm working my way in slowly (data cap = self control). I'm still at the stage of not being totally sure what's going on but it looks gorgeous 😂 It's very addictive!

That is a lovely picture of them.

Wang Yibo is too beautiful to be real. I'm a mess because in Episode 28 Wuxian told him he was pretty.

Xian is too adorable to be true. His character is such a rascal. The fact they are both in boy bands knocked me for a loop because they are such good actors that despite all the fantasy I could completely believe in them.

At first I found it confusing because its fantasy world is so unusual. But I first fell in love with the place names (especially Cloud Recesses) and then the music, costumes and wonderful characters. I was totally addicted after 20 episodes. It just gets better and better.

True, they are too beautiful. I'm currently rewatching it and on Episode 40. Their chemistry , their magical love keep the story evergreen for me.

Also, if you've enjoyed the Live action version, it is possible that you'll love the anime version of it , because it's one of the best Anime series I've ever seen and the anime story is actually much closer to the book compared to the Live action.
