here we go, i hope

I'm going to take some advice and post more even if it's mundane stuff. One question: I used to be able to post an entry on DW and cross-post it here, but I didn't see the cross-posting feature anymore over at DW. Have they removed it? Maybe I missed it but I did check for it at least 3 times. I'll have to post this over there after I finish here.

I hope spring comes quickly for you so you can get back outside and at least speak to others a bit. It's funny that when I've gone into the office, when I run into another person, we gab and gab for an hour. Even people I never really spoke to before. I guess we are all social creatures to some extent.

Thanks for your comment and sorry to be so late replying. Spring is indeed around the corner here. We've had some lovely, mild temperatures for the last week.

I am fine when I actually do go out and run into people. I dread the thought of it beforehand but once it happens and I'm home safe again I usually realize how much fun I actually had when socializing. I think I'm a typical introvert but still a social creature!

RE: DW cross-posting
What if you do it the other way round? I always post on LJ first and import my journal to DW once a week. It usually works well enough; sometimes the comments won't show up, although I get the notice that they've been imported. They usually show after next week's import, though.

Thanks for the tip! I think the next time I post I will try it that way - LJ first and then DW.

That's so strange, the crosspost feature is where it's always been on mine. However DW does not play nice with me and I often write the post this side first and copy/paste it over there if I want it both sides (some things for me are just more comfortable on LJ)

I don't mind a bit of down time but we had way too much of it last year and I know how you're feeling. Ray is here so I was never alone, but I missed my daughter and her family so much - we couldn't see them the first two months, after which they did drive bys and we would stand outside the gate properly masked and distanced and at least get to say hi to the grandbabies. I think we're allowed up to ten people at a family gathering now (or is it six, no one has a clue, it's changed so much) but we still have a curfew and getting your hair cut is seen as high risk. We're just a month short of an entire year in some or other level of lockdown and it has got so tired....

This will be a better year and spring really is coming to your side of the world. Sunshine always helps!

I don't know why but DW didn't work for me re: the cross-posting the last time I posted. Next time I'll see if it's working again but if not I don't mind copying and pasting.

I miss my daughter and family too and wish they lived closer! She feels the same but they decided to move out West and they do love it there.

We were in lockdown from December 26 until February 26 so our son and his girlfriend were able to visit us this past weekend. It was nice. It is her birthday today so we celebrated it yesterday. I really missed having company!

I feel so very fortunate that we have no restrictions on family visits - at least at present.

And it is just so vert sad that we now fear hospital so much - but we all do.

We have had a restriction on visiting between December 26-February 26 but lockdown has been lifted now. Before that we didn't have any restrictions either. You don't know that you'll miss something until you can't have it anymore, isn't that so true?

I think we're all praying for a warm and early spring, so that we can sit in gardens/balconies/parks. Hang in there...spring really is around the corner.

Sorry for my ridiculously late reply to your comment. It seems spring might be arriving soon here as well in the frozen north. The past week has been unseasonably warm and all the snow cover is melting around the edges. Thanks for your encouraging words!
