END OF AN ERA

We've lived in this house for 20 years this coming October 21st yet it feels as if we moved in yesterday. Especially now because I've sold it and will be/hope to be moving across country by the end of November.

This place has become too big for us and far too expensive. I know everything has gone up, but our municipal taxes, utility bills and ( Read more... )

Good luck with the move and the new house! I hope the new medication will prove helpful - I wish your hubby a speedy recovery... and lots of strength to you!

That looks like a very nice house. I think I could fit my living room into that laundry room!

I can't wait to see the house in person. The kitchen, laundry room and garage all look very roomy. We'll need the space.

I do hope the changes to your husband's medication help you both.

I always think of B.C. being 'a bit like home' as so many Manx families made their way there in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. That they felt at home there does speak of a temperate climate that, despite climate changes, should still be easier to cope with!

That house looks really nice. We, too, had lived in the same house for over 25 years - but when we moved in 2018 it was only across the village. This one was built around 1975 (it felt very modern to us as the old one was built in 1905) and it was a good age to buy - electrics, kitchen units, and so on, had all needed replacing in the 10 years or so before we bought it, but the house is sturdy and well built. I do hope you will be as happy in your new home as we are in ours.

Thank you! We will be moving from a house built in 1987 to one built in 1975 but a house inspector will be examining it today. I'm waiting with bated breath for him to contact me once it's done with his report.

The area of Kelowna that it's in is at the upper end of the Okanagan desert which is partly in British Columbia and partly in Washington State. The climate there is dry, mild in winter and can get extremely hot in summer. Last year when B.C. suffered from many forest fires, they reached close to Kelowna but did not affect it too much.

There is little to no humidity in that part of the country which I'm looking forward to. Where we live now in Ontario it's very bad for my allergies. I think I'll be able to breathe better in B.C.

I'm just now making my way through my f-list backwards. I'm sending my best wishes for your hubs and for you.

This house is adorable. I love all of the light and the huge deck on the back. It's a new chapter. I hope to see more photos.
