Strange and Absent Friends

With the advent of the new year I've been pondering whether or not to try and contact an old friend of mine, N.

We first met in elementary school when we were 7 years of age and remained close friends until she took a strange turn in the early 1990's and distanced herself from me.

That is really hard. But I'd try to contact these old friends, as long as they are still around. This might be your last chance.

I'd try to get in touch with both D and N, or N's son. If it doesn't happen, at least you tried. And if it does, what a nice thing to be back in touch, even if it's just a catch-up.

It is sad when relationships no longer exist, when they were so much a part of our lives before.

I think you're right. I should try to get in touch with everyone. None of us are getting younger and I'd love to know how everyone is doing. I feel the sadness of losing my old friends.

It's better to know the worst if it happened, rather than wondering and worrying. I hope N is fine and you manage to reconnect.

Of course you are right. I'd like to know about N. In any case it will be closure. Who knows? If she is now living close by, perhaps we can get together again.
