what i love most about home:

taking napps on the porch swing
lots of sugary cereal in the pantry
my cats
my sister
going to little kid soccer games
shopping for groceries
not paying for laundry
seeing old friends
visiting grandmas
taking naps outside
:)

Over the weekend, i did something drastic and lifechanging: i deleted my facebook account. I am completely serious about it being drastic and lifechanging. I just felt like the bad aspects of it were really starting to outweigh the good aspects. So after a few days in Haiti, we got pretty comfortable with John, Lusma, and Juad-ley. On our first real day of work, we brought the soccer equipment down to the school and assembled the goals. Then Zach and Tony and Fr. Jaquelin played soccer with all of the boys. In Haiti it sunny rains all of the time! It is beautiful there. There are palm trees and hibiscus plants everywhere you look. the children are gorgeous with their dark skin, big eyes, and beautiful smiles, choirs singing in the church constantly! yet at the same time, there is so much poverty here. piles of garbage cascading down the sides of ( Read more... )

another month and a half later and life just keeps moving along. I made it to Haiti and back in one piece and the experience was undescribable.
