Oh I think that's very normal, particularly of teenage girls. It's like Mr Martin says: we all (well, most of us) have these continual symptoms of appealing to others, pleasing them. And it's all somewhat selfishly done too, trying to incur their admiration/friendship/love.
It's definitely not that you aren't "cool enough" or don't have a "great enough personality" (although, admittedly, I often feel that way too), but rather that people generally just do not care about others. I don't mean that in a particularly cynical way. I think it's a given that most people pay much more attention to themselves than to others, so they'll miss seeing or commenting on something about you. Not your fault, in short.
*hug* I for one do try to be your friend. Even though it may appear otherwise sometimes. -_-
