so, Dollhouse - If you’ve seen it, come and talk with me about it :)
[warning: there might be slight spoilers, if you care for such a thing]
Actually, at first, I thought of skipping watching it altogether. I’ve heard about the premises & it didn’t excite me too much. I mean, yeah, it’s a Joss Whedon thing, but still…
and then
ucublink told me that she saw it & it weirded her out & that she thought it’s worth attention, so I said, what the hell, Supernatural is over, CSI 9 feels like warmed-up leftovers, I need some excitement in my life (obviously not in RL, there I have excitement enough, anybody wants some? please?).
So I went & watched Dollhouse ep.1-12 (there’s ep.13 somewhere around, I’m just not sure where…).
I wasn’t impressed.
The nicest things I can say about it all is that it’s not boring (I had no problem finishing the whole 12 eps) & it’s not overly clich`ed. Also, the Alan Tudyk guest performance was a real treat :D
But it’s also not as witty or funny like I would have expected from Joss.
The plot line is not really engaging, either. I’m not in great suspense to watch that other 13th episode or the 2nd season.
I don’t know what, but something ain’t working for me here.
And it’s not the lack of gayness, I can survive that. Really.
And it’s not because of
Elize Dushku, I’m quite impartial to her. Looks like a nice lady, gives a nice performance.
But then you go home, and not think about any of that too much.
So what did I miss, guys? Why did you like it?
also, since
assafr didn’t post about it yet - It's official: Dollhouse gets a second season
(
& Joss talks about it).
