Why is spanking your kids so frowned upon? I don't get it. Of course there's a limit. You can't beat your kids, obviously, but a little spank when they've been bad? I don't see how that's going to mess them up.
And the same goes for those who get all hysterical about people who have their kids on those cute leashes. It's not like they're just using a dog leash, good Lord. Sometimes they can be necessary.
I'm surprised, but happy to hear it. I've mentioned before, to others that I think spanking is sometimes necessary, and get reactions like I've just said it's okay to burn them with red hot pokers. And no, you can't. And so sometimes they need to be spanked, so they're made clear that what they did was very wrong.
I wasn't a terror, but I was still spanked a couple times when I threw tantrums, and after that, I didn't.
Because society has changed. It's more important for other people to think you're a good person than it is for you to think so yourself. We've put our personal value into the hands of the general public and it's making us paranoid as a whole.
I don't disagree, but these days that's minority thinking. There's a reason an entire generation was raised with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement.
I think it did me good as well, my mother used to threaten to hit me with a wooden spoon and usually all she had to do was open the drawer and I would behave.
