Personally, I think there's a lot of not-God in there. This goes against a lot of what God has been teaching me and walking me through laely. I suppose this may be true for the one speciic person who it was told to, but it is not true for every Christian as this says and certainly not true for me ( ... )

I think you may have misread/misinterpreted what this person was saying. It's not about making your desires for marriage go away or about God saying no to your desires completely. It's about God saying no for a time...because you aren't ready (and neither is your future spouse) for that relationship. It's about God saying yes to that desire for marriage in His timing, when He says your ready for it and not sooner. When I read this, I didn't get the notion of making your desires go away...what came across to me was the fact that so many times we try to fulfill that desire with a person before we try to fill the longing for deep relationship with God and that's wrong. God does not call us to walk alone, but He does call us to find ourselves in Him and to look to Him for fulfillment, not other people. God uses people, but if we are defining ourselves outside of God Himself, we are looking in the wrong places for fulfillment. God does give us desires, but if those desires become our focus and our focus shifts from God, I believe we are ( ... )
