Congrats on landing 2nd place! Have you tried posting your videos to YouTube?
Here's what I've got of Bug Lodgers so far... He's taking a lot longer than the MICE because of all the layers and reflections... and to think he'll only be an inch high when I'm done... sheesh, what am I thinking?
Holy cow! He's looking awesome, I like the green that you picked, makes him look very sneakeh. I wish I could color in photoshop like that, I'm sure that has to be a few zillion layerse. Can't wait to see what you do with his goggles.. I'm pondering if he will have the same stylish ones that you yourself have ^_^
Thanks for the conga-rats. I don't even know if my vids are small enough to go on the web, haven't tried posting them anywhere, but I might over the summer when I actually have time to look at it and see how its done.
Thanks! His file is actually getting large... At present count there are 25 layers (in 5 folders)...But that's likely me be very cautious. The Green shell color is 4 layers (Dark Green Base, Brown, Medium Green, and Highlight Green). It's actually not as hard as it looks; wand select a part of shell; bucket fill with Dark Green; Contract the selection (save it); grab a large, feathered paint brush, select the right color and layer; dab the brush off target; Repeat, making the selection smaller each time for brighter highlights. (Selection>Modify>Contract>Smooth>Feather. Then Paint.)
And you're dead-on about the goggles... I've already got an image loaded to replicate the irridescent patterns.
I wish I'd had an animation course in highschool... as it was, I didn't even have a counselor who knew what college to send me to. Do you graduate this year or next?
