The birthday came and went as they do. I always feel torn between wanting to invite everyone I know and host a HUGE event for my birthday and wanting to ensure a quality event by only inviting those who I am sure will come and provide good company. I also find myself really badly missing my old friends on my birthday. I have that problem too - you almost need to have two seperate parties. I've actually done that to great effect.

I sometimes forget that developing relationships with people usually starts with meeting new folks in the first place. It's the curse of semi-hermitude. :)
