Had to trailer both Bodie and Griggs down to the Special Farrier today (their regular farrier comes to them, but Griggs has been going to this specialist regularly for some corrective work, and it's worked miracles for him; for Bodie it was just to check to see how last summer's hoof crack is doing). It's a long drive - 60 miles each way, about an ( Read more... )

Let's see...eek for the drive through snow! Yay for the power supply (although arrgh for the wrong thingy)! And...yeah for the enduring passion. *g* That's what I've found in Pros. My participation (and desire to participate) waxes and wanes. Sometimes I write a lot, sometimes not at all. Sometimes I watch a lot, sometimes not at all. Sometimes I read...well, you get the picture. But the passion? It's steady.

"... It just amazes me, how happy Bodie and Doyle still make me. I struggle with fandom issues - to participate or not in particular discussions, what to say, etc. etc. And sometimes I wonder why I no longer seem able to write long interesting thought-provoking posts about fandom and fanfiction and that sort of thing. But regardless of that...god I love them..."

That's more important than fandom. Savor this, it's what life's really about.

Eek! 120 miles with a double horse box and with snow! Way too stressful! Very glad you all got home safely.

I'd love to hear any fic recs you may have from all your reading, if you get a chance to post. :-)

Very impressive, managing that drive-especially with your whole world trailered on the back. Good luck with your computer problems; I admire your restraint. Hardware problems get right up my nose. The last time the much-vaunted-technical-solution-of-the-moment (imagine stirring music from Arthur C. Clarke's "2001" in the background) blew a board (cracked in shipping, of course) my conversation with tech support started with "Hello, is this Muppet Labs? Tell Dr. Bunsen Honeydew that his latest pet project just exploded in my lounge!" and deteriorated from there. In my defense, I can handle things that blow up on purpose; it's the things that aren't supposed to pop that get my goat ( ... )

If possible I'm more in love with Bodie and Doyle now than when I started in 2002. There is something special about them.

Desire to articulate comes and goes so don't worry on it, it will return. In the meantime, reading is always good. There are so many different situations that the lads find themselves in there's a story for any mood. So cool that!

I sometimes worry that I enjoy talking about them so much, but then the worry goes away and I just enjoy {g}
