OMG Vividcon Yay!

Aug 18, 2009 14:36

So yeah, that's about how I feel. When's the last time I posted about a con? Squeed about a con? Made a long post about a con, or even anything fannish? I can't even remember (even though I've certainly had plenty of fun at cons over the past few years). It was starting to feel like maybe I needed to turn in my fangirl credentials ( Read more... )

LOL! Sounds, familiar, huh?

Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the link. You were heavily involved in the remaster, weren't you? I'm thinking I should credit you in my post...

God I love that vid. One of my all-time favorites.

Great review. I've been rewatching Media Cannibals 1 & 2 for the Wiseguy vids, and have been meaning to drop you a note to say how wonderful it was that you remastered the Professionals ones, especially A Fire Is Burning.

I'll keep an eye out for Bromance/Birdhouse in Your Soul online - I love the song and the vid sounds fun!

Glad you're enjoying some unrestrained fannishness! Life is almost never better than when those feelings hit, I find.

Oh, AFIB is just the most wonderful vid, isn't it! Hard to believe they did that with VCRs. That vid, however, is the only one for which I did not do the original remaster. I "re-remastered" it when the second edition DVDs came out, and that's the version that's online, but Sandy Herald and Rachael Sabotini did the first remaster. I've done all the other MC Pros vids, and happily - Detachable Penis was my first. I've also done one by Deejay and one by Katharine, but I haven't yet gotten those online; there are two remastered MC Pros vids that aren't online yet, too (Stray Cat Strut and We Walk the Same Line) - I'll try to get those up soon ( ... )

I look forward to downloading We Walk the Same Line one of these days and have redirected my thanks for the first remaster of AFIB!

Well, cool. Of course, now I want to watch all these vids...notes to hand. *g* I've a very uneducated eye, but I find all of this utterly fascinating. Thanks for all the detail!

And I'm glad you had such a great time--it's about time you did, for one thing. *g* Tell me what you think of "Leverage" if you get to it, okay? I'm thinking I'd enjoy that one, too.

I'm not so sure my notes are the best notes to have to hand! *g* But yeah - watch these vids; they're all worth watching, definitely, and many of the others too. You can see playlists for the vid shows, with links as they become (and if they are) available, here.

I did have a fantastic time. And I've already DL'd the first - pilot - ep of Leverage (from the first season - they're in the second season now). I am going to watch it - I canvassed everyone I could about what show I should watch if I could only watch one, and Leverage was the almost universal response!

Sometimes you would pass by me and I would try to catch your attention and I'd start to say, "Hi justa..." and then you whizzed right by without even looking up at me. I did not take that personally, but wow. You are very focused on going from place to place at cons, aren't you? I was just hoping to steal a second to say hi. *g*

Thanks for the awesome con report and the vid comments, which I always find interesting. :)

Well no, not necessarily - you just must have caught me at moments when I was! It always seems like there'll be plenty of time to see and talk with everyone I know and to meet new people, too - but no, Sunday night comes and I always seem to leave having missed a few people, which I'm always sorry about. Anyway, I didn't mean to fly by you - I'd have loved to say hi!

Anyway, glad you enjoyed the report, and my somewhat rambling comments...

I greatly enjoyed our bonding over our beautifully taped cables, and getting to flail over Star Trek :) I can't wait to hear what you think of Six Feet Under!

This was my third VividCon, and the first where I really felt like I connected with new-to-me people. I'm terribly shy and have a difficult time approaching people I don't know, and this year I feel like I was able to move past that a bit.

I loved flailing over ST with you, and bonding over cables, and all the rest - definitely a high point of the con. I've known Dira for what feels like forever (and I've always really, really liked her), and so I've heard your name for so long - it was just great to actually spend time together, and I'm looking forward to more... Glad, too, that you feel like you were able to connect a bit, since that's one of the great pleasures of fandom, though it's definitely not always easy (I'm better at hiding it, but I don't always have an easy time of it either ( ... )
