The doctor explains that a ship found him lying on a piece of driftwood, and they're not sure how many days he was drifting at sea. They're giving him IV fluids to help rehydrate him. There are injuries from the blast, nothing life-threatening -- bruised ribs, various cuts and scrapes, and other wounds that have scarred up, wounds he received from the torture on the ship -- and there's a gash on his forehead that they've stitched up. When she finally goes in to see him, her knees buckle at the sight of James right there in front of her, and a nurse helps her to the side of his bed, another bringing a chair for her to sit.

Juliet's hand reaches out to touch his arm, and she lets out a shaky breath. "James? Baby? Can you hear me?"
