Alysha was waiting in the Home Ec room as the students came in. She gestured for everyone to take a seat around the big table in the middle of the room

"Before we get to that though, I'd like everyone to go around and introduce themselves - name, grade, something interesting about yourself, what your cooking experience is, and what you'd like to learn how to bake."

Fine, he could introduce himself. "Hi, I'm Griffin O'Conner, senior now I suppose. Uh..." Something interesting? "I can't hold my liquor, and my only cooking experience is a course last summer on health foods where I learned to bake terrible-tasting snack bars."

"Nice seeing you again, Griff," Alysha said, unaccountably amused by his attitude. "We won't do anything terrible tasting in here. I don't believe in it." Unless of course she made it terrible on purpose.
"My name is Cara, they told me I'm a junior," Cara recited, wondering what the point of this was, and what might count as an interesting fact for these people. "I don't cook because Mord'Sith don't need to cook, and I really don't care what I learn to bake."
A little voice at the back of her mind that sounded a lot like Zedd commented that learning to bake 'anything' would be an improvement.

Cara didn't know the first thing about decorating cupcakes. Cara didn't know the first thing about cupcakes full stop. Though she could appreciate the concept now she was aware of it.
She'd also gotten distracted by a small vial of what looked like sparkly sand, and was twisting it to see how it caught the light. Wonder at the Mord'Sith's first experience with glitter, albeit the edible kind.

"I was wondering if you wanted to be my TA," Alysha said, wrinkling her nose a little at the 'ma'am.' "You have the most experience so it's basically helping me keep an eye on the others and make sure nothing other than pastry gets burned."
The idea of burning pastry made Alysha cringe but she couldn't deny it was possible.

Sookie's eyes lit right up. "Oh, yes! I would love to," she enthused, grinning. "Thank you for asking me. I can totally watch and make sure no one burns themselves. And for that matter, burning pastry kinda...lingers, so I'll try and see if I can stop that, too."

Just ignore the way her hand started creeping up in front of her. No reason for it, whatsoever.

Also there are probably 20 dozen perfectly made cupcakes (Alysha got a little carried away) so decorate as many as you like and take 'em with you.

Until then, she was going to decorate the Hell out of whatever cupcakes were in reach. And eat a bunch, too. As one does.
Her vision for cupcake decoration was grand. Her execution...less so.
