Finally, the 100th episode! I'm disappointed!
I was pissed when Lana died so early in the episode because I KNEW that shit wasn't going to last. I was so pissed off for the second half of the show that when Jonathan kicked the bucket, I wasn't sad or anything. I was just really upset that I had waited so long for this episode and Lana is still on the show. After I had time to think about it though, I did realize that the scene where Jonathan dies is pretty said, but at least he didn't go out like a punk, milking a cow or some shit.
Also a lot of my anger came from hating Clark. This asshole knew that he couldn't be with Lana if he told her his secret, right? He knew that if he saved her, someone else he loved would die, right? So he goes back, doesn't tell her, and then he's fucking surprised when his father dies. I'm glad he told Martha because if they started playing the whole "should I tell my mom," "should I not tell my mom," thing, I would straight up stop watching Smallville.
Something else I like is that Chloe knows that Clark fucked up big time. Martha doesn't seem to resent Clark's choice, but I wonder if Chloe will since she's had a latent rivalry with Lana this whole time anyway.
God, I hate Clark now. I don't even want to look at my Tom Welling icon or wallpaper! lol
But Tom did put in a great performance in a couple of scenes. Michael Rosenbaum was truly the ish in this episode. Kristin Kreuk was her usual boring ass self. And if the girl is in winter clothes, what is the point of even having her on screen?
Here is a quote from an interview with John Schneider about leaving:
If
there is anything about Smallville that Mr. Schneider would
miss more than anything else, it would be his working relationship
with Tom Welling. "I miss working with Tom. We have a really
remarkable relationship with regard to the father and son bit.
We're fun, and we're both big guys and all that sort of thing,
but when you really get right down to it, the relationship you
see on Smallville is very like the relationship we have.
My son is 14, and I'll have that relationship in a couple of years.
But I don't have that, really, yet," he said. Schneider's
last scene filmed with Welling for "Reckoning" was holding
Clark back after Lana's fatal crash. The words "there's nothing
you could have done" are effective for not only that situation,
but Jonathan's passing as well.
I hope Bo Duke John Schneider finds work soon because he's the man.
Tom looks hot in formal wear. But I think his tie was red, yellow, and blue. How obnoxious.
Best scene: By far the best part of the episode was when Clark made the diamond in his hand and set it in the ring with his heat vision. I turned to my mom and I was like, "My god, that's so romantic!" lol But couldn't he have made her a bigger diamond?* OR the scene in the farm house with Clark and Martha.
Best line: Chloe (as usual): What did you do, Clark? Spin the Earth on its axis?
Worst scene: The one in the fortress of solitude where everyone realized Lana's ass was going to live.
Worst line: I don't know, but Kristin Kreuk probably said it.
*In the first scene I thought he was holding just a regular ring box so when he closed his palm and it started to glow I was like "WTF, Superman does not have special box opening powers! I hate this show!"
Yeah, I have to get ready for school.
I hate Kristin Kreuk.
