Canaan isn't human, but he's probably close enough that he won't ping as nonhuman? He's a manufactured imitation of a human, with a soul, personality, everything.

Wilhelm on the other hand would ping as something seriously inhuman, unimaginably powerful, and unspeakably ancient~ See: continually, for years, powers a spaceship the size of the country of Lebanon with his own personal energy as a trivial thing that doesn't take any concentration or limitation of himself in other areas.

Imoen is difficult--for most intents and purposes, she's human. But she's a Bhaalspawn, and they're also native outsiders--that is, beings partially composed of the energy of another plane, ie, Imoen carries the essence of Bhaal, god of murder. An outsider's aura is strong enough that it can linger wherever she's been for a while and Imoen's is typically not suppressed because it takes eight to nine hours for her to prepare the spell and unless there's special circumstances it's just an all-around waste. FUN TIMES.
