Why should religion dictate whether you can receive affection or not? It is part of human nature to want love and affection, and to also give it. You say this kind of structure brings happiness....but wouldn't you be happier if you felt loved and adored and loved and adored someone back? It seems to me that you are letting something dictate that your life that is simply there to help direct. Religion is not the be all and end all in life, but something to help guide....not take over. It's your life and you do with it what you like. If that means depriving yourself of basic human needs then so be it, but I think you need to reassess the role religion is taking in your life. Perhaps its time you took the drivers seat and not God. I have no issues with believing in God and letting religion be a major part in one's life, but when it means you are limiting yourself in 'this life' because of promise of a next life, I fear you are wasting your precious time. I'm pretty sure God/ Jesus never said it was bad to receive affection from others

Be imitators of God, walk in love. Fornication & all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you. No fornicator, unclean person nor covetous man who is an idolater has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ.
Clearly you have a wealth of ideas that you designed yourself. Read the Bible, it contradicts everything you are saying. But that isn't your fault, the enemy is a liar & has many deceived.
And what exactly is wrong with living my life according to my own designs? Why should I base my life on something written thousands of years ago? Times have changed, and so has humanity. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with either of our beliefs. I just wonder how one can live the rest of one's life without sex and affection. Is that really 'unclean'?
