there are islands, though, do they not count for shit? I don't know anything about geography, but I know I have been to this "carribean".

No, it's two completely different things. The Carribean has Grand Cayman, St. Thomas, and St. Martin, while the Bahamas have Nassau and some other crap I don't remember. I am very confused.
