hanson - shout it out
Yes, this is a rant. Don't like it, don't read! You are warned.
Before I say anything else I would first like to say: what the fuck! 800 dollars for a special package! Insanity much? Okay, there are some cool things in there, even I will admit that, but I don't think they're worth 800 dollars. But hey, maybe that's just me. I'd rather spend those dollars on a vacation. Though I would love to have the owner's manual! Wish that would have been in the Deluxe package.
Now, with that being said; what's with all those songs from the Stand Up Stand Up EP being on the album? Like, I know the songs on the SUSU EP were mostly acoustic and that they will probably be electric on the album, but what's wrong with some new material! And you know, the only song of the SUSU EP I actually liked was World's on Fire, but that's also the only song of the EP that will not be on the album; reason, "it did not fit as well with the sound of this record". Which is all nice and well, but I'm afraid that's going to mean I'm not going to like the album very much, since I already not really like four of the songs on there.
I had really hoped this album would be something new and refreshing. Something different from what we had heard up until now, but now I'm not so sure. Though of course I still hope they will be able to surprise me in a good way. I guess I'll still have to wait and see.
So, yeah, I'm aware that most of the above sounds all kinds of negative, and I know I'm not the fan that I used to be, and I may not like their music as much as I used to, but despite all that I do know that I will always be a Hanson fan, no matter what crazy things they do or what kind of music they make. They have been such a huge part of my life, and most importantly of my childhood, and there's nothing that can take that away. And for that, I thank you Hanson.
