he has a livejournal, it's rstevens. i used to subscribe to him back in the day. dieselsweeties is cool, but i've fallen out of line with the whole comics thing, the market/genre is too overflooded with talent. and honestly i'm sick of the robot theme- if you open an issue of juxtapoz you'd see that every artist and his/her mother capitalizes on robots.
come to think of it there was a kind of funny ninja comic that i can't remember...
oh, and did you know that the red robot first appeared on Exploding Dog? yep. although it didn't first appear there either, but i think that was where the image was generally popularized.
wow you are like miss information. i should like be able to reference you in times of peril. oh and i love exploding dog! i'll have to check out that comic site too.
ya Neil Young is totally Canadian (sorry if this came across wrong) but his influenced the alt-country/folk genre of the region. also, he criticizes the south in "southern man," so my mind must have been fixated on that. interestingly, many of country music's best artists come from canada.
I meant when I "overcame" the pretentiousness of Neutral Milk Hotel. I love Aeroplane now. But before it was difficult for me to get into the semi-cutesy/pseudo-nostalgic lyrics.
As for the scene inquiry, I think you have a long way to go before you become scene - and I mean that as a compliment of the highest order. ;)
