*waves* Hey there! Just watched the special late and oh god, I'm also very confused and mixed-feelings-ish. There are things I just DON'T GET and I don't know if it's me being stupid or they just aren't explained
( ... )
Oh I think there's plenty that just isn't that well explained.
Yeah, really hope they explain this at some point.
Yes really appreciated all of the nods to classic Doctors, even though I'm not that far into my classic Who watch. It's what an anniversary special should do. The Tom Baker thing...I think it was deliberately vague. Some people think he was supposed to be an older Four somehow, others think he was just a character played by Tom Baker, which is what I think.
Yeah, plot wise, not the strongest episode, but apparently stronger than some other anniversary episodes. I think the Hurt Doctor was supposed to be the huge secret. I am not sure what the Silence wanted, but hopefully that will be addressed in the Christmas special. I do wonder how long was supposed to have elapsed between the two episodes, but I guess we'll never know, just like we'll never know how the Zygon thing resolved.
Thanks! Glad someone enjoyed. Just had to discuss with someone.
Re: classics: Have you seen Adventure of Space and Time? :) Yeah, explanations were done fast, it was all so full… The tribute was fantastic, indeed! :D And from what I could hear Four is a rather cryptic Doctor, so that would be fitting. ;) Silence will fall at Christmas… oh dear, I can't wait :D (And yes! The Zygons. Apparently they made a cool treaty, like with the Silurians except this one worked out. Idk. It just blurred straight into the background.) And it was very nice seeing your thoughts! :)
Yes, really enjoyed An Adventure in Space and Time. I wasn't sure I would since I haven't seen that much classic Who.
So much stuff in such a short time. This has a lot of re-watch potential.
Interesting. Haven't gotten to Four yet. Still stalled in the middle of my selected Two serial. Things have been busy for me lately with the holidays :P
Eeek! Looks like it's going to be a big deal. And they're going back to Tranzalore, so I guess we'll see if Silence Falls or not.
The other people that Ten went up against were the 'Secret Council' - part of the CIA (Celestal Intervention Agency). They woke Rassilon specifially and were in a pocket universe.
I loved it. I loved that the only one that will remember (as always) is the latest incarnation. So...Gallifrey burned. But it didn't.
Wonderfully done in my opinion. But then, I found the whole thing brilliant, really!!
The doors close for Clara with a snap of her fingers now? Does the Tardis suddenly like her? Intriguing. Also, did she have the motorcycle before, or did she get that after the foray with the Spoonheads in London? I think we are supposed to belive this is years after TNoTD. Clara and the Doctor are much, much closer than in the finale. He trusts her completely and they are comfy with each other. The TARDIS probably followed her thief. But I agree more development would have been needed.
So, were there no Daleks on Gallifrey when they moved the planet? I'm seeing all kinds of logistical issues with this now. Oh, yes. I had not thought of that. This is quite a problem. But some isolated Daleks on the planet in a bubble Universe are probably better tahn a whole fleet outside.
So how does he remember this part with the fez but not the HUGE part about Gallifrey? Wondered that too. No headcanon yet.
OMG the look on their faces when the Hurt Doctor asks if Ten and Eleven are the Doctor's companions! "Am I having a mid life crisis

I know, details. Who needs to wrap them all up ;)
Glad you enjoyed :)

True.
Hmm....
Yes, great quotes :)
I guess time will tell. The classic Doctor Who fans seem less bothered by this, but it sounds like they've had to roll with bigger things in the past.
Thanks :)
Yeah, definitely some plot holes, but the episode had an awful lot it was trying to do, so I think most people are willing to forgive it those things.
