Judging from the Network, it seems like people are finding themselves isolated today.  I must admit, I had a moment of panic when I didn't hear anyone in the clinic but Ianto's still there so this curse isn't affecting me.

Although I suppose I might have to wait to pick up the books from Lux.

Mercy will want me to eat again.

pensive lawyer is pensive, thinking too much, not affected, ianto, woe, curse day

I got lucky today, so I can't really speak for the people who are cursed, but... it seems like it'd be better than nothing, anyway. Even if it's not the same as really not being alone.

I just wonder if it would be lie torturing yourself. Being in the same room and talking to someone, but never seeing them or touching them, or actually being with them.

Sure, it'd be frustrating... but anything's better than being the only person left in the world.

So Sartre was wrong. Hell isn't other people.

I'll start to worry about isolation if this lasts more than a day.

The nightmares lasted two days.

I'm not worrying about it until I have no choice.

I would never suggest that you do so.

Have you been in to see him yet?

A little, this morning. He looked better. Don't you think he looked better?

I do. He's going to keep looking better too. It'll just take time.

For the longest time, Ianto had felt like he was deep underwater while everyone else was on the surface. He had impressions of people being around him, of voices speaking to him - and sometimes he caught the words - but it sounded like they were far away and muffled.

His whole body felt like a leaden weight, the way water pressed down when you were deep beneath, and although it was a lot easier to breathe than he remembered before, coming to conciousness was somewhat of a struggle.

But he did.

Eating had been awkward and painful. He just couldn't force himself to be hungry, and what he did eat stuck in his throat and threatened to come up afterward. The smell of coffee could twist his stomach instantly, and he was glad the others didn't seem inclined to bring it into the beach house. Kyle choked down a mug of hot tea instead and then padded back down to the clinic and the confined room ( ... )

There was a familiar voice talking to him, one Ianto had heard many times before, but couldn't quite place it. He knew the owner of this voice well, he was sure of it, and more than that he... loved? him?

Moving seemed like an awful lot of effort, and Ianto didn't quite want to do it at that point.

But the man was chatting away about ducklings - Ianto knew he had some of those, but then that made no sense, why would he have ducklings if he worked for Torchwood? - and he remembered little black and yellow bundles of fluff.

"Not babies anymore?" he mumbled.

Kyle's words caught in his throat and he stared down at the man whose hand he held, truly looking at him for the first time since he came into the room.

He lifted a hand and traced the line of Ianto's chin, fingers trembling.

"Did you just...Ianto? Are you with me?"

The desperation from some of them does not flatter them. They won't shrivel up and die from lack of touch so soon.

Maybe this is just the last straw for them.

They should have stronger wills.

Quite easy to say when you aren't cursed. I suppose that's why we say it.
