If you're looking for symbolism, that'll vary from person to person. I'll take a guess and say because it's empty. But... Is it because that's how our eyes percieve it? One of the scholars told me birds see a whole lot of colours we can't even imagine... and there are some people who can't see any colours at all.

It's not really white, it's clear~! But it reflects all the light so it just looks white when it builds up~!
