I've just had an extraordinarily frustrating phone conversation with a customer, that got to the following point

On the whole I agree; I have to deal with idiots who don't read contracts on a daily basis at my current workplace. You have to remember, however, that there is such a thing as an 'illegal contract' the most topical that springs to mind being the whole bank charges fiasco (which I have personally successfully challenged and won) and given your company director's track record I wouldn't rule out of all realms of possibility.
