[ The device turns on in his pocket in time to catch the sound of a door being unlocked and then opened, footsteps... and then some cloth brushing more against the receiver as he pulls it out only to notice it's on....then he mutters and turns it off of course. ]

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Off network, internalization, and optional action for the roommate if he's there. All this backdated to around early o'clock this morning as well... )

[The roommate has had a few more days to acclimatise or, rather, to avoid the subject as completely as he can. That hasn't been total, by any means, and the more small details filter through to him the more he's aware he should sit down and try to trace out the bigger picture. He will, eventually. Maybe.

He enters as the shower's still running (unaware of any other way this might be interpreted, and anyway they have a curtain and he's quiet and quick enough to be unnoticed), and leaves again without a word, but when Peter gets out he'll find the basics of antiseptic and gauze laid out for him on the sink. Chase would take care of it himself, of course, if asked, but he's not presuming he will be.]

[As it happens, when Peter exits the shower and finds said gauze and antiseptic waiting, what he does is bypass it entirely, towel wrapped politely round his waist of course and walk into the hall. Maybe he's dripping a little but it's not a top concern at the moment, not that he would necessarily label Chase a concern to his face. Approaching him about it is another thing entirely to Peter however and he looks around for the blond, and if he doesn't find him in any of the common areas then he walks down to the door of his room and knocks once.

Scan pauses and seems to fix him with a look but then meanders on to...the kitchen apparently, perhaps to pick at some food leftover from dinner the previous night. Peter remains where he is however, clad in towel and unscathed for all that there was blood so liberally plastered on his clothing. He doubts he'll need to explain that to Chase who like many in the City knows of Claire's ability. ]

[No, though he may need to explain whose blood. Chase is sitting at the desk against the opposite wall of his room, the one where his computer and the weeks worth of notes usually sit - that pile depleted due to the leave of absence that's stretched over several days. His own hands still bear remnants that may turn into scars.

He leans back in his chair, elbow over the arched back of it and looks at the door, not quite certain how Peter will have responded to everything that's so literally overtaken them. For his part there's a frisson of anxiety in letting anyone in, even in the weight of footsteps around the apartment, familiar as they may be. But he pushes that aside, calls out,]

No need to knock.

I've been told it's polite.

[Peter smiles just a little at his apartment mate. It isn't that Peter wants to force wellness upon the blond, but the slight upward curve of his mouth is just that; slight, and it is genuine too so where he hopes it does no harm there is always the chance it could do some good. In any case it doesn't last, his expression softening into neutrality, noting hands injured from lack of care of the parasite for what an ordinary person's physical form can endure. Without Claire's ability, Peter would wear similar marks and then some.

Leaning a little, his shoulder with to the door-frame, his head tilts fractionally too.]

I didn't hear you come in.

[He decides to go with this rather than 'I didn't hear you knock', not sure what kind of casualness is too much and not enough in this afterward that seems to cling with static and white space.]
