the boys ask the girls, incredulous, why they swoon over diamonds, and what is the appeal in wearing expensive borrowed clothes. why, they wonder aloud, do girls so love having their picture taken? these girls do not answer back, because we want proof that we were once this beautiful.

but if we always know that we are this beautiful at one point in our lives, we shouldn't need the shallow reassurance of someone elses film

I'd settle for happy over pretty, and they don't have as much to do with one another as I'd like to think.

i don't agree. you can be happy and ugly, but at the same time, whatever you wear, however you look..you can't ignore it, influences you. being beautiful is not only being liked by others, it's a beautiful experience.
