Oh, sweetie, that is difficult news indeed! :(( I'm sorry this shit is happening, but I'm so glad to hear that you're starting it with such a positive attitude. My mom had ovarian cancer about 10 years ago... she kicked it, after the chemo, but it totally changed her life. She stopped living it for other people and shifted her focus to the things that made her happy, that made her grow and thrive, and basically fuck the rest of the world. This worked well for her, since her kids were grown and out of the house (you've got a young one, don't you? a daughter?) so it'll be a little more of a juggling act, but I'm sure you can do it.
Using this to fuel art is FANTASTIC, I can't imagine that there's not a huge, valid, intense upswelling of emotions over this news, and I've never seen any emotion-inspired art that I didn't like.
I wish I could give you real-life hugs, bb! But since I can't, here, have a virtual snuggle *HUGS* and more power to you!
I hope you have someone there who will help you out at this time? Chemo requires an awful lot of driving, and company during is always nice. Keep me posted, okay, honey? I'd like to know how things are going.
Ha! I just read your profile to be sure about the daughter, and I used to have an oversized (of course) RELAX T-shirt. I'd sing that song at the top of my lungs, and even at 15, was so naive I had no idea what it was about. Corey, the sole gay guy at my high school (that I knew about, anyway), from the vastly more mature age of 16, kindly explained it to me. I loved that shirt so much.
I won't talk about all the people I know who'd discovered late-stage cancer and survived (but it's a lot).
I will, however, say that I'm glad you're using this as a source for an art project. Now it's time to concentrate on you! Also a great 'excuse' to get rid of all the stuff (could be people!) you Just! Don't! Care! About!
But y'know, I'm mean that way. I'm babbling, I know. In any case, have a virtual hug from me!
well, shit, darlin'. I'm so sorry you now have this giant life-altering thing to deal with. But it sounds like you have the best outlook and that is quite inspiring, and maybe the life-altering might be in a good direction, too. Sending hugs. (if you can accept hugs from someone who loves National Treasure ;) )

I can't go through this and NOT make art, what a waste of good material! :)
