OOC: Infopost The Bandwagon The Second: Adult Edition

Dec 30, 2010 18:18

Second info post, because I like to torture Tracy and steal her little code, too!

JOHN WATSON, M.D.
Teacher
Sherlock (BBC)

- works at the Fandom clinic every Friday, barring when Sherlock has an emergency.
- which is often. Being sidekick to a self-declaredly sociopathic detective will do that to a man.
- shares two hotel rooms at the Arms with Sherlock.
- is not gay, okay? Even if everyone in the world seems to keep mistaking him and Sherlock for a couple.
- is that Dr. Watson, and can be recognized as such, though he will stare at you oddly.
- is also from the 21st century, thank you very much, which kind of adds to the weird.
- used to be in the army, but he took a bullet to the shoulder in Afghanistan and developed a psychosomatic limp, after which he returned to England with PTSD.
- at least, according to his therapists. Sherlock cured the limp with one night's worth of running about and is convinced that what John really suffers from is adrenaline addiction.
- will be helping Sherlock teach Sex Ed from now on. Which is to say he'll probably be teaching Sex Ed while Sherlock is incredibly unhelpful in the background. Sigh.

NATHAN CHRISTOPHER CHARLES DAYSPRING ASKANI'SON SUMMERS
(AKA CABLE)
Townie
Marvel Comics/X-Men

- the mayor of Fandom Town!
- 6'7'' of pure muscle and steel. has one eye with a unique scar on it. the other one flashes in accordance with dramatic needs.
- has the mutant power to shoot guns, as well as currently-limited telekinesis and telepathy.
- it's limited because he uses it to keep the techno-organic creature that forms his left half in check. Yay, technobabble.
- comes from a few months after his death in 'Cable & Deadpool', and went through the ensuing Messiah Complex storyline whilst in Fandom.
- runs the Wellspring Arms, which does not sell guns as a rule, though it'll sell you non-lethal weapons. Currently Cable is the only one who can decide whether or not to sell you guns. Contact me OOC if you want to set something up.
- currently, to paraphrase the man in question, 'bangin' Deadpool'. They live together in the apartment above Wellspring Arms. It's a very long story.
- part of that story involves stealing a young baby who was the first mutant born after the Mutant Decimation event a few years back, before she could get killed by anyone. But we'll get into that next...

JANICE SUMMERS
(AKA Hope Summers in canon. Their fault for not giving us a name for years.)
NPC

- is currently three and a half years old, and has been raised by Cable and Deadpool for the majority of those three and a half years.
- is about six months away from starting proper weapons training. That's totally normal.
- is the most adorable red-headed child on the island, at least if you ask Deadpool.
- has taken up attempting to execute Anakin by toy gun shot to the head. So far unsuccesfully.
- is going to grow up all normal and well-adjusted just like you'd expect, really.

SARAH LOUISE KERRIGAN, QUEEN OF BLADES
Teacher,
StarCraft

- a mean, green fightin' machine from outer space.
- but most days, in Fandom, she looks more like this by means of telepathic trickery and mental control over her body. You're free to sense something isn't quite right about her if you have that kind of skill.
- is unquestionably evil due to the Zerg genetics that were forcibly bound into her DNA, causing her to hear the Dark Voice and be driven to devour all things.
- that being said, has more autonomy than the average Zerg and would rather manipulate you and try to get you to deliver yourself to be assimilated by the Zerg voluntarily if you're... interesting.
- after all, pissing off half the multiverse by taking over Fandom would just be a pain in the neck.
- is incredibly powerful as a telepath and a telekinetic, and was one of the most powerful telepaths and telekinetics when she was human - just heavily inhibited. She's... not inhibited anymore.
- is teaching young teenagers how to deal with their mental powers. That'll end well.
- has a very long history at Fandom that started back when she was still human several years ago. Finding out her old BFF/Les Yay partner Harriet Jones died a while back has not done her connection to humanity any good.
- back home, her lieutenant/cerebrate River Tam keeps watch over Zerg business, after Kerrigan kidnapped and infected her with Zerg DNA a few years ago.

JOHN MITCHELL
Townie,
Being Human (BBC)

- is a vampire going on 120 years old.
- was turned during the First World War, where he was a captain offering to sacrifice himself in place of his men. Herrick took happy advantage of the situation.
- used to teach at Fandom High, but after some incidents during the summer, wasn't exactly feeling up to socialising with human beings. Has since taken over the Mystery Sign Theatre, where he showed movies once a week.
- is extra-durable, extra-strong, and in possession of extra senses, but none of these are particularly over the top. It's just going to hurt if you punch him, hurt worse if he punches you, and he can smell extreme emotions and non-humans. His skin is pretty cold, but he can go out in the light (though he tends to wear sunglasses) and when his blood lust is aroused, his eyes go black.
- is a recovering blood addict, as the lust for blood is a psychological addiction in his world, not a physiological one. That means he can, and has, quit, but on the other hand, normal blood replacements for vampires - blood bags, TruBlood, and so on - don't work for him. It's the life in the blood he craves.
- his lack of bitey is hence completely a voluntary action that has cost him a lot of effort over the years, but he's finally stable in it for however long that's going to hold.
- tends to make friends with people of all ages and doesn't have a lot of boundaries in that sense. His BFF is a teenage girl, for christ's sakes.
- splits his time between Fandom and Bristol, where he has a whole cast of NPCs, most notably his werewolf BFF George, George's newly-bewerewolfed girlfriend Nina, and the ghost Annie. They're going through a calm patch right now, but some old friends of Mitchell's have already warned him that their recent murder of villain Herrick is going to have Reprecussions.
- which means this is totally not a really foreshadowy place to point out that 'Dammit, Mitchell!' is a phrase that has become its own institution.

ARTHUR PENDRAGON
Alumni,
Merlin (BBC)

- is the Once and Future... uh, Prince, of Camelot, at the moment.
- his dad, King Uther, is still alive and well, thanks, and hates magic rather a lot. In fact, doing magic in Camelot anywhere is going to get you executed.
- which is kind of a problem, because Arthur's plus-one, Merlin, is kind of a wizard. And Arthur doesn't quite truck with 'KILL ALL WIZARDS' anymore because of it.
- has been trying to negotiate through the ensuing web of loyalty conflicts since returning home from Fandom last summer, with varying results.
- is still very close with both Katchoo and Francine, the other two prongs of the so-called Clusterfuck, and secretly considers them his closest friends. Not that he'd ever, ever admit it out loud.
- has some rough times ahead, not that he knows it, as we sloooowly work our way through S2 of Merlin. Though all bets are off on how closely we're going to stick to season 3...
- has a step-sister called Morgana who's really his half-sister but he doesn't know that yet who has also been dealing with having magic. In another departure from canon, he's aware of it.
- will be at Fandom for New Years! As always, the Arthurian Legend exists on Fandom, so it's totally fine for your character to realise he's That Arthur. Arthur's not as easily freaked out by it as he used to be, either.
- has kind of mellowed a little under the influence of permanently chirpy boyfriend Merlin, but is still kind of a jackass. A jackass with a good heart, but still: jackass. IC is very much not OOC in that respect.
