The 7th Name

...Thank goodness that's over. The island's returned back to normal for now (if one could even call its equilibrium state normal). That seemed like something out of a really awkward health class. Along with my correct body, I have my own correct memories as well ( Read more... )

memory gain: about execution, memory gain: about kira, memory gain: about l

Whatever could cause such deaths~? As though Death saw them.

Maybe this is what the shinigami that you were curious about can do? Kill with only a name and a face? Then the questions that follow would be "Why were there only criminals targeted?" and "Why specifically a name and a face?"-that would really limit the power that a shinigami would have.

Criminals targeted proves the culprit human, such a silly, silly idealistic goal can only be~ Death has no use for such things, things then point to Kira the human with the power of the shinigami. [pauses for a long enough time that is seems like he's done speaking before he begins again]

No, shinigami would not be limited.. [theeyeswhykirahowdidhegethemissingpiece-?] Kira the human has something from Death. How unfortunate and lucky he is.

A human who has somehow gained the powers of a shinigami, that makes sense. I wouldn't call it too silly, though. It's flawed and wrong, but as they say "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." However, this Kira is arrogant-it's just one human judging the actions of everyone else.

I take it then, that shinigami can't just kill using their minds, because if supposedly Kira has acquired the power somehow, he wouldn't need a name nor a face. There must be something else.

L...

That name isn't one that the general public knew... at least, in my time.

It could be that we are from the same universe, but at different times. L was a household name-I remember that the battle between L and Kira was reported (and to an exaggerated extent, too) extensively on the media.

Dark memories, but they leave me with the feeling that there's much more to the story than you've remembered so far. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet.

Might I have your name?

Indeed...I guess I'll just have to wait and see for the next opportunity to gain memories.

I'm Light Yagami. And you?

The One Electronic.

I've yet to regain any memories. Are these opportunities common?

Pleased to meet you.

Memories are usually correlated with special events, for example, this one where certain inhabitants switched bodies and had the memories of the person they were switched with, but correct memories were returned once in the correct body. There was also another event in which people were turning into children, and gained memories of their childhood.
