I read a convincing article back in early '04 that claimed if Bush was re-elected there would be a divisive war within the the Republican party that would eventually split the party... It seems everyday the uber-religious have to redefine their morality to exclude a few more people. I'm just waiting for the Republican's religious base to claim itself morally superior to the "real" Republicans (the rational ones who don't base every decision on what their "god" wants) and withdraw their support. Either that, or more holy wars...
