Character Relations
Commodore Smoker
"Mr. Task Force." Smoker is one of the first people to actually take Lang seriously here in Nuadoria. He's a hard ass, and Lang has yet to find evidence of a sense of humor; but Smoker is recognizably a good guy. Some trust issues back home keep their relationship largely professional and cold, but if Lang were asked to point out a friend in this wasteland, it would be the good Commodore.
Heine Rammsteiner Badou Nails?
They've met- and Lang hasn't always been entirely clear on who this kid is. He's weathered a verbal tirade or two from Agent Lang without batting an insolent eyelash- so he's probably made of stronger stuff than the average bird-smuggling street punk. Lang both admires and detests Heine Badou?? for his implacable demeanor. And with a Task Force assist under his studded leather belt, this avian absconder is looking more and more like an unlikely ally.
Elena
An eager young woman, who reminds Lang of some of the younger cadets he's supervised in the past. Belongs to some kind of elite government faction, the Turks, and has a pretty impressive list of useful skills, despite her apparent youth. Elena sought out the Task Force to fill the void left by her missing teammates. She struck a chord with Lang, who understands what it's like to need your team as much as they need you.
Spike Spiegel
Commodore Smoker's golden boy. A bounty hunter, where he's from. He's not exactly brimming over with motivation, but Lang has some admiration for that cool guy demeanor. He seems to know what he's doing, which is a relief.
