executive order...

I'm upset about Obama agreeing executive order in the stupac ammendment. I dont believe in the executive order or 'signing statement' at all. The president does not get to make legislation or interpret legislation... we have two other branches of government for that. This bothered me when Bush Jr. did it and it bothers me now. I also have a real ( Read more... )

I'm generally over the whole thing. The Democrats have rammed through an imperfect plan just so they can say they did SOMETHING. It is flawed and does not serve, in my opinion, the greater good. I fear how it will play out over time and what it may ultimately cost us on many different levels.

That being said, the conservative mantra of "tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts" as the answer to every probem is just as ill-advised and serves no one but the wealthiest Americans and large corporations. The trickle down theory has always been BS...the dwindling middle-class is my proof.

We need change now more than ever and the two political parties that run this country (with permission of the corporations that own them) do NOT have the answers.

I heard a progressive activist who was thinking of starting a corporation so he could run it for public office..... after all it has rights...

I still think a corporation should sue striking workers for attempted murder...

I dont think conservative views can be depicted as simply being tax cuts. But I do think the trickle down theory is a 5th grade model of economics. The economy is more web like and I think both parties have failed to grasp that. I REALLY want these two parties to lose their standing and have like 4 or 5 parties that do a better job of reflecting the interests of their constituents. I had hoped the Tea Party would spark this but to no avail...

I agree and my over-simplification was used to make a point, that being that every plan they come up with seems to have an actual idea or two in tandem with tax cuts. All politics, no governance...on BOTH sides.

I still sort of find the idea of president's editing law to be distasteful. I understand the statement in its context now but still dont like the broader concept.
