It's a natural reaction to want your friends.

Even if it means putting them here? A person could always want to be home with their friends, but what if they didn't want to be home?

I said it's an understandable feeling. Feelings don't have to be bound to logic.

True enough.

I don't think it's wrong; it's a feeling I can very well understand. All the same, I'm relieved they're not here. I miss them, but...at least they're spared this, you know?

Right.

That's why I ask, naturally. Do you think they could handle all of it without being really bothered, anymore than anyone else? Or that they might even benefit by getting stronger from it?

Well, some of them were here. They just...left. I think they handled it okay. As for the ones who haven't arrived, they might benefit...but this place is hard on the restless types. There's not much to explore.

Heh, true enough.

How are you handling it?

It's normal to want the people you know to be around.

Not so much right or wrong as a common need.

[He didn't read the message past "Want your friends here?", but he thinks he's got the gist of it.]

Heard this one before.

Unsurprising. It's just new to me.

Assuming I didn't ask it the first time I was here and can't remember, heh.

Nah, just a lot of people askin' it over and over. Bet people will answer ya with the same old bull, too.

Heh.

To be honest Raph, I don't even care. I know what I want and my own sense of justice. I'm curious to everyone else's ideas about it however. It's somewhat remarkable how judgmental some can be over something so simple.

[As if Smoker has friends. Marines don't have friends, period. Whatever, she answers, because she can't help but feel pinged, she does cover the picture so it's not seen who it is though.]

It can't be helped, to want those we appreciate here. However it's still a bad and unfair thing, even if they could handle it just fine, this experience shouldn't be lived by anyone.

You think so then?

Even if perhaps they would get stronger from such a hardship?

There are things that people shouldn't be forced to endure, no matter how much it could benefit them in the long run. Being imprisoned and enslaved to the whims of a group of untouchable people, considered less than a person and just a test-subject, isn't something worth of anything.

Not everyone views it that severely.

Hell, some people willingly put themselves through worse on the Grand Line in the name of "fun" and "adventure."
