I am struggling for ideas for Liam for Christmas. Many of you gals have lovely little boys and have been through this age already. So.. I come to you
( Read more... )
holden was really into cars at his second christmas so we bought all different types and sizes for him to push along. tonka/playskool makes some great ones that are soft, plus bigger ones like fire trucks, garbage trucks(which all boys love? lol), dump trucks.
ikea has a really cool car rug with roads for 15.00 and their train sets are really cheap too, 7.99. you can buy additional sets for the same price to include bridges, criss cross', ect.
we're really big on melissa & doug puzzels at this age too.
holden got a ramp/track thing last year and played with it once because it's too much for him to set up on his own so he gets aggravated and doesn't play with it unless you do it for him.
also big legos or wooden blocks. both the boys love to build them tall then knock over the towers.
basically anything that can cause your feet harm in the middle of the night when you step on them or can take you out as they fly around the corner pushing them seem to be hits.
My little brother loved and played with those Brio train tracks for YEARS! (They also are great quality, so they last for years too! Greate for if you also have or plan to have more kids, or nieces/nephews.. kids' cousins, neighbor kids, etc etc.)
A little bit more on the expensive side compared to the plastic stuff, but they are wooden, and like I said.. they last a while. They're really durable! He was I think.. two when we got them for him? All my nephews always had them too, and LOVED them! Heck, even I enjoyed playing with them with him, and I was nine :)
My cousins (boys) had them when we were little and we all loved to play with them! I bought a couple sets of them for my friend's little boy's 2nd birthday, and she said he played with them for WEEKS. she actually was a little .. well.. not aggravated, but flustered because she had bought him all these other toys for his birthday too, of course, and all he wanted to play with was those bricks!! :P His dad also had a great time "building" things with him too - and then, of course, knocking them down! They're easy to put together and are very lightweight (no worries over injuries)
