I say right :) Wow, yes, maybe you ought to query those first two. I think they should have at least given you a hold notice for anything over 300 days? Wishing you the best with all of them.

Yeah, I'm starting to think so too. I think over a year is getting a bit crazy.

Talk about it. See, if they're sales it's not so bad, but often those oooooold ones still come back as rejections. Boo!

I have one that's been on hold "under consideration" since March. It's wearing me out.

Yeah, long holds are rough because they add that extra element of anticipation and hope. Hopefully, it comes back soon! I'm pretty sure I've had holds go for several months as well, too.

Unfotunately, I have yet to make a sale from a story on hold. They've all been released. Wahhhhhhh!

Me too! :'-(
What gives? Seems like me, you, and Clint should start a club. Might be hard to get people who "want" to join though.

Absolutely! We could be the Kiss-of-Death-Holds Club. *sigh*

I don't even think (would really have to check records, though) that a second submission to a pub that put me on hold has resulted in a sale. Of course, I've gone so long without a sale now that I can't remember.

/end whine/

Re: "a measly 7"!

That's admirable. Of course I don't think I even have 7 shorts. I have one out there but I'm working on a couple large edits right now.

I used to be regularly around 15. It's an accumulation of stories written over several years though. I find it's painful having only a few out. I'll invest too much emotion into them. But on the otherhand, I seem to be slowing down somewhat.

That's a good way of looking at it. I think I can keep track of three or four at a time but more than that I'd need a program.
