I first heard about the accident while listening to 89X last night... Jay Hudson was just wrapping up the Top 9 @ 9... Just as the bridging tune was wrapping up, and another block of Rock was about to commence, he chimed in suddenly and rather dumbfound: "...There's an accident involving a tanker truck that's like... just a few miles from my house

Wow, I didn't even hear about this... but I remember a similar accident in California several years ago where the fire from a crashed tanker also caused an overpass to collapse. Pretty scary.

About a week-and-a-half ago there was a multi-vehicle accident out this way that also involved a tanker (the truck driver was not the one who caused the accident, he just got caught up in it). The truck turned over, and although luckily it didn't catch fire, it did spill 8-9,000 gallons of gasoline. Much of it ended up in the nearby Merrimack River, right near an area where I like to go visit and take walks. I'm almost afraid to go up there and see what damage has been done and if the air still smells of gasoline. :(
