I cooked so much blasted food yesterday. I made the grapefruit chili chicken à la Kitten, a dozen twice baked potatoes, two dozen deviled eggs, a pot of fresh green beans, fresh broccoli with melted cheese over it, and a strawberry cobbler for dessert. It kicked much ass, and we all ate till we were sick. My sister and I decided to go shopping at ( Read more... )

Wheee! I would cook another culinary masterpiece, but the boy and I are being sent out to dinner tonight. Maybe we'll take a camera and get some pics of someone else's work. Or maybe we'll just eat it.

I made pot roast night before last. It was yum-ish, but we were too impatient to let it get properly mooshy. I'm still waiting on a good time to make the souffle we bought ingredients for. That, and I'm so afraid it's gonna fall or moosh or whatever it is souffles are reputed to do at the slightest noise/disturbance/etc. Grr.

And yay for financial aid! I really should go back to the states and get started on that so I can get a degree of some sort and get a decent job. But Canada's so much more fun!

Yeah, souffles are very tempermental, but even if they fall, they still taste really good, so don't stress about it. When I worked at the french restaurant (about a hundred years ago) we used to make them all the time (grand marnier souffles that is). Another REALLY simple dessert is profiterrolles (I think I misspelled it, like I always do). Its just a puffed pastry with a scoop of ice cream in the middle and fresh melted chocolate poured over the top and some powdered sugar sprinkled around. Its delicious and really easy.

Why don't you move up out of the holler and cook me some grub in the Lou? Green beans are my favorite food.

Green beans are good, especially when they're home grown. :)

I'd love to move out of the holler. I'd like that more than anything honestly. We need to have a GTC cookout or something.

I miss you too, and I should call you, and I definitely should call Sarah! My classes start tomorrow, though they're going to be too easy and pretty boring for me.

Hope you're doing mad good and no more buildings are blowing up around you. :)
