Ghost In The Shell

Since Chris was so broad in giving us the topic of “Thinking Machines,” I decided I wanted to look at that idea from a more interesting note. What can be considered a thinking machine? If a human is a mix of human and machine… does that make the person still human or are they now considered a machine? One show that tries to answer these questions ( Read more... )

You have way too much time on your hands... how did you get your backround black? And why? And uploading pictures... I must say it does look nice;) Anyway I love this idea of people either being machines or humans, or both. I believe that what ever is thought can, in eternity, come into existence. People are not just a sack of bones and blood, but possible machines with brain power to accomplish anything. It's the limitations we put on our selves that prevents us from becoming human terminators.

I have yet to see an Anime but would like to see this one.

Justin. You out did yourself here. You not only succeeded to construct the meaning of thinking computers into another form of view, but you were also able to combine the meaning of thinking machines and of “The Matrix and “Ghost In The Shell”. Your constructed a clever article that makes the mind wonder the question “What If??”

I think you have a point on trying to separate human and machines. But I think you should look at the human body as a machine in itself. I think once you think in that propective you can better understand why people keep using the same ideas, not necessarily taking them from each other.

I like your perspective on the thinking machine. I find the best way to understand something is to question it. I think once a human becomes a combination of a human and a machine, they lose their authenticity. Although, the human mind is not artificial, the replaced parts of human leaves less space for trial and error. The best discoveries are found in making mistakes.
